Lagos!!! What Else?

Easily reached from Hostel 33, by either train or bus, Lagos is an ancient seaside town with over 2000 years of history. One of the most popular tourist destinations in Portugal, it has a huge variety of beaches, hotels, bars and restaurants, and is renowned for its nightlife and parties.  Aside from this, Lagos also has a huge cultural legacy, a frequent home for Henry the Navigator, it was the historic hub of the ´Voyages of discoveries´, and for some time featured at the centre of the European slave trade.

The historic centre with its narrow cobbled streets holds many little gems to be discovered. From churches and museums to vivid street performers and the vibrant local market, there is somethng to suit all tastes. The new marina is packed with shops, restaurants and bars and there are guided boat tours of the insonia caves and rock formations that are unique to this area and also rowdy booze cruises for the revellers. Lagos is a great place to idle away the days, drinking cocktails or enjoying a fresh seafood lunch, or simply taking in the view from the Ponte de Piedade!

In and around Lagos you will find some of the most beautiful natural scenery and wildlife in the Algarve, go horse riding, hiking or hop on a jeep safari through the Costa Vicentine National Park.

Experience some extreme sports, surfing, rock climbing, diving, quad biking, the choice is endless. Let our knowledgeable staff here at Hostel 33 guide you, and help you plan your visit to Lagos.
